It's been a minute since NYC's Stellastarr* have been around, with their last album, Harmonies for the Haunted, dropping in 2005. In coming back, the quartet is also going back to its roots. The new album, Civilized, finds producer Tim O'Heir (who also helmed the band's 2003 debut) back on board, and it's released through Stellastarr*'s own label, Bloated Wife. The result is a resurgence of the original urgency that made the group sound so immediate — which is bound to be reflected as it takes the record on the road.
