Locals Shotgun Players have taken on Goethe and Brecht. Now, the ever-inventive company has turned to George Orwell's dystopian classic Animal Farm for inspiration. The Farm follows the misadventures of anthropomorphic farm animals as they struggle to create a civilized society. But when some animals' appetite for power outweighs the greater good, things take a decidedly human turn. Writer and director Jon Tracy recreates the action with beat-box, spoken word, and original music, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Berkeley's John Hinkel park.
