Late summer is the perfect time to play catch-up as local galleries and museums prepare to unveil their fall programming. Playing off of this, SF Camerawork holds an evening soiree which acts as your last chance to catch three dynamic exhibits. The Ersatz Group Exhibition, co-curated with UPS driver Dennis D'Ambrogio, showcases photographs mailed in response to an open call, with their envelopes acting as frames for the pasted-on pictures (all are left unopened). Leaving A Mark celebrates the second issue of local photozine Cutter, which focuses on self-documentation. Finally, there are digitally-quilted panoramas of Doris Jew and strange American portraits of Jim Stone, both recipients of the 2009 James D. Phelan Art Award in Photography.
