Billed as a "true crime memoir," The Adderall Diaries recounts The Rumpus founder Stephen Elliott's strange personal connections to the much-publicized Hans Reiser murder case. In 2007, Reiser was accused of killing his estranged wife. The case took a bizarre turn when his wife's lover, and Hans' former best friend, Sean Sturgeon confessed to eight unrelated and likely made-up killings. Elliott, who knew Sturgeon from SF's underground S&M scene, became so fascinated by Sturgeon's desire to confess that he wrote his own Adderall-fueled tell-all. Tonight's release party features writer pal Tobias Wolff bringing the text to life, while musicians Terra Naom and the Yellow Dress and host Bucky Sinister provide the entertainment.
