Steeped in the lush landscapes of their native Northwest, Seattle-based Vaughn Bell and Portland-based Josh Keyes cultivate a vision of the environment that's both dark and light. Keyes paints nature under siege with images of wildlife wandering on the interstate or drifting in the rising tides of global warming. Bell has a more playful and ironic touch; visitors can poke their heads into her biospheres — Plexiglas domes that resemble hanging terrariums — or take a miniature paper-maché model of Mount Rainier equipped with wheels and a leash for a test walk.
