One of the 20th century's most recognizable, beloved, and debated icons (and her genital-less beau) gets made over by more than 100 local artists at this perennially popular yearly exhibit celebrating creative reuse. This year Barbie is turning 50 and Altered Barbie has pulled out all the stops for their artists' reception: there's Barbie haiku, a performance by Velocity Circus, Barbie-inspired short films, and even a puppet show. Attendees are also encouraged to come in Barbie and Ken drag, so take a note from Kay Thompson's snappy fashion editor in Funny Face and "think pink!"
