Teaming up with ACT, England's Kneehigh Theatre smashes the fourth wall and then reconstructs it as a video screen in their production of Noël Coward’s Brief Encounter. The impossible romance between Laura, a housewife, and Alec, a married doctor, in WWII-era Britain is mirrored in Emma Rice's creative staging in which Coward's witty dialogue mingles with the curtailed couple’s on-screen reminiscences of their illicit affair. And did we mention that the characters have a tendency to break into song? If you're looking for something dreamy to do on date night, this is it.
