Like a two-wheeled version of Bay to Breakers, the annual Tour de Fat celebrates beer, biking, and the great outdoors with typical San Francisco-style merriment. The day-long extravaganza features bike rides through the park, an art-cycle show, live tunes, an obstacle course navigated via pedal power, and plenty of snacks and brews for spectators and riders alike. The party isn't just unmitigated hedonism, however; profits from the five-dollar beers go directly to eco-friendly Bay Area organizations the SF Bike Coalition and the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council.
