Canadian artist Lucy Pullen, whose oeuvre includes a punny edible intervention riffing on one of Bruce Nauman's greatest hits (Eat Your Words, 1999) and a chartered simulation of zero gravity (Tricks in a Cessna, 2005), delivers her own steely take on playing in the dark in The Effect Effect. Six twilight landscapes — painted at dusk, no less — glint moodily in monochrome, their gray oil-on-aluminum surfaces evoking the obscurities of oncoming night. Three darkly gleaming polyhedral sculptures complete Pullen's nocturnal sampler.
