Indiefest is on a tear: Jeff Ross' 12-year-old showcase of innovative and esoteric independent films has already grown to include satellite festivals of horror and sci-fi (Hole in the Head) and documentary works (DocFest). Now, Ross and co are expanding their empire once again, sinking teeth into San Francisco's local music scene. The Winter Music Fest, scheduled as a grand, seven-day opening ceremony for its mother festival, highlights 43 local bands, including the pop-punky Action Design, the one-man band and beatboxer Kid Beyond, and the chamber music-cum-prog metal rocker trio Judgement Day.
