In the hands of artists David Trautrimas and Kristina Lewis, the trappings of everyday life — coffee pots, bathroom scales, high heels, zippers — morph Transformer-like into sci-fi fantasies. Trautrimas dismantles appliances plucked from garage sales, reassembling them into miniature architectural models which he photographs in barren, Mad Max-esque settings. Lewis' deconstructed stilettos explode in creaturely contortions of leather and heels, while innocuous light switches come alive, wires bursting from their socket. After viewing this show, it just might seem the objects are running the asylum.
