Acclaimed sex educator and performance artist Annie Sprinkle and her partner Elizabeth Stephens are the sort of daffy, sweet-tempered, and bawdy fairy godmothers we wish we had all had on hand to give us "the talk" back in the day. Thankfully, the dynamic duo gives lecture-cum-performances such as tonight's, in which the ladies mix life stories with mini-performances, and talk about their current forays into investigating a fusion of sexology and environmentalist they call "ecosexuality." Sprinkle and Stephens also preside over an erotic cake contest of audience-baked creations — which is all the more reason to take sex out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.

Assuming the Ecosexual Position

The Love Art Lab at The Lab

In celebration of Valentine's Day and this new decade pregnant with possibilities for change and transformation, acclaimed performance artist and sex educator Annie Sprinkle and her partner, interdisciplinary artist and activist Elizabeth Stephens, take you on a joyous and inspiring journey as they explore, generate, and celebrate love through art. They will weave their amazing stories, share some dazzling images, and do mini-performances about their experiments in romance, artificial insemination, breast cancer, sex education, performance art weddings, and other love-inspired projects. Currently investigating “ecosexuality,” these two dynamic women are mapping a new field of research they coined “sexecology” — the place where sexology and ecology intersect. Perhaps you’ll discover that you, too, are an ecosexual.

The evening's proceedings will also feature an erotic cake contest.  Audience members are encouraged to participate by bringing a luscious, lascivious desert of their own making. The cakes will be shared and sampled and the baker of the cake that is judged the most erotic will take home a prize.
