Local boys The Dodos' original acoustic guitar-and-drums setup seemed like the epitome of folksy politeness, but their French Kiss debut, Visiter, boasted some of the most immediate and visceral indie rock of 2008. On last year's Time to Die, drummer Logan Kroeber still lays down polyrhythms while keeping true to his inner John Bonham; Meric Long continues to rival Six Organs of Admittance's Ben Chasny for sheer acoustic-guitar skill; and the addition of vibraphonist Keaton Snyder neatly counterpoints the former duo's amiable scruff. Tonight they bring aboard Magik*Magik Orchestra for a special collaborative set.
