Nouvelle Vague play inventive arrangements of some of our favorite new wave songs, like Talking Heads' "Road to Nowhere" done in a Hank Williams style — that is, of course, if he was a woman with a seductively airy voice. The singers add a special richness to the music, particularly on the bossa nova cover of Violent Femmes' "Blister in the Sun." Depeche Mode's Martin Gore even makes a guest appearance on NV's take on his famously debaucherous duo, "Master and Servant." They won't be back in San Francisco for a while, so be sure to catch them tonight at the Regency Ballroom.
