“New York City's festivities might get more news coverage, but SF's annual St. Patrick's day parade is the largest display of kelly-green pride west of the Mississippi. The procession of Irish American cultural groups, marching bands, and uniformed police officers, military brass, and firefighters heads up Market to Civic Center, where live entertainment, a children's petting zoo, and plenty of Guinness on tap await.”

The 159th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in San Francisco is a well established event with historic ties to the city. The addition of the Festival after the parade provides a great opportunity to learn more about Irish history and culture.
