“Aaron Zonka's art comically depicts the difference between a "hip ster" (a sunglass donned man who is rapidly stirring a cup-of-joe) and a "hipe e" (the lowercase letter is smoking a joint). His other characters include the Emo Emu, a penguin junkie and a drumming Robot. His absurdist, pop-culture-influenced icons seem to emerge from the streets of San Fran, but only after they've gone through the Bay Area native's imaginative mindscape that renders them all twisted up.”

Aaronk Zonka studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, but is a Bay Area native. Besides making art, he's also an active musician, playing with bands such as Dust Collector and Azura. Recently he's also taken a leading role in organizing a series of art and music happenings with the moniker "Under the Table" in San Francisco's Portola Distisct.
