San Fran pair Alper and Donaldson make paisley-infused, bubblegum-pop that is coated in the accidental effects of the 8-track it was recorded on. Its half-absurd, half-sincere anthems tell stories of art happenings with animals in sweater vests and draw character sketches of modern kids wearing pin stripe Sta-Prest trousers. This Sunday's show is the Art Museums' first live performance, and they've recruited friends Carly Putnam (Green Flash) and Virginia Weatherby (the Mantles) to fill out their live sound.
