“This is the first ever documentary about the rich and weird history of San Francisco's Playland amusement park (RIP: 1880-1972.) Check out the Shoot-the-Chute log-rides and the trippy Fun House with its creepy automaton mascot Laffing Sall — whose creepy cackle could be heard throughout the park. The footage will transport you to a San Francisco of yore, and you might even recognize the Carousel, which now has a home in the Yerba Buena Center. Dan X. Solo discusses carnival game scams and present a mentalism act before the screening.”

A full-length documentary about San Francisco's famous 10-acre seaside amusement park, Playland at the Beach. Located next to Ocean Beach, it was torn down in 1972 to make way for a condominium development. Gone now for more than 3 decades, it remains one of the city's lost treasures.
