“Gomez got their first break in 1998 when Michael Eavis, founder of Glastonbury Festival, asked them to plug a last minute gap in the schedule with their bluesy indie pop. A week later, they had quadrupled the sales of their first album Bring It On, which went on to win the UK's Mercury Music Prize. The band is now scattered between Brighton, UK and Brooklyn, NY, but with the help of producer Brian Deck (Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse) they've recorded A New Tide, their toe-tapping, head-nodding sixth album. Catch them all together at the Great American Music Hall.”
Gomez has revealed details of its highly anticipated new album, A New Tide. The eagerly awaited collection — the band's sixth studio outing. As ever, a wide range of styles is incorporated into Gomez's matchless musical brew. Flavors of Delta blues, psychedelia, and Krautrock all come into play, resulting in a musically mischievous and remarkably forward-thinking collection. In short, A New Tide is Gomez at their inimitable, incomparable best.
