“Sex inside a copy machine. Fantasies about a panther's private parts. Erotic encounters in the basement of the de Young with a security guard. Kevin Killian’s latest short story collection, Impossible Princess, combines pop culture obsessions and not-so-private fantasies into bizarre and porny landscapes. Killian even writes himself into the text. In the short story "Rochester," an alternate-universe KK gets hot and heavy in a Kylie Minogue chatroom. When they retire to his house, we discover that a chimpanzee is in fact the author of all Killian’s literary works. Weird? Yup. But that’s how we like it.”
