Arundhati Roy won the Booker Prize in 1997 for The God of Small Things. Give your ears a treat and your intellect a boost, as she reads and discusses her new collection of essays. Roy may be short in stature, weighing in at 5 ft 2 in, but she can hold her own in any political debate, standing up against globalization, imperialism, and the U.S. and Indian governments collectively. The proceeds from tonight go to the International People's Tribunal on Human Rights in Indian-Administered Kashmir. Move over Jane Fonda, this ex-aerobics-teacher-turned-political-activist just might give you a run for your money.
