Lo-fi fanatics freak-out! Neon Indian (a.k.a. Alan Palomo) drives his tour bus from the studios of Jimmy Fallon to the stage of the Mezzanine for a night of bright and fuzzy synth-pop. The twenty-one year old Texan confessed his song-writing inspiration started with a good, old-fashioned acid trip: resulting in the track “Should Have Taken Acid With You”.  Come drift away on glowing tape ribbons of retro nostalgia, and put some pep in your step.

Note:

Nice Nice will also be playing, and Jonas Reinhart will be DJing a set.

Mezzanine says…

Neon Indian, an elusive project from composer Alan Palomo, delivers synthy dream-pop lullabies, and grinding guitar noise to create something eerier than the sum of its parts. Originally forged after a hazy winter gathering in Texas, the music orbits around themes of drug-induced heartbreak, weary afternoons, and lost chances, providing a lush soundtrack to the deadbeat exploits of teenage ennui. It's been said to sound like a saw-wave cutting a Doobie Brother’s song in half.
