With the "geek" and "cool" circles on our cultural Venn diagram overlapping as never before, few performers work the intersection like Brian Posehn. Hipster bona fides squarely in place as one-fourth of the alt-comedy road documentary The Comedians of Comedy, not to mention a Mr. Show writer and recurring Sarah Silverman repertory player, Posehn also dorks it up as a prominent metalhead, comic book devotee, and Rob Zombie horror flick actor. But it all started with his standup, a cranky amalgam of pop-culture commentary and loser confessional neatly summed up by the title of his first comedy album, Nerd Rage. Parody musician and video artist Remy warms up the crowd.
