Emily the Strange's black bangs make her hard to miss, and her cheeky misanthropy has won her legions of adoring fans. The brainchild of skateboarder Rob Reger and illustrator Buzz Parker, Emily, who has become an icon on the graphic design scene, is finally getting her very own retrospective (as if the Emily-inspired clothing line, stickers, comic books, and four graphic novels weren't enough). In addition to Reger and Parker, fellow Emily creators Brian Brooks, Nicomi "Nix" Turner and Justin Barry will be present at tonight's opening, which also features DJ sets by local Emily novel co-author Jessica Gruner, She-Bible co-founder Stacy Rodgers and Amedee Ito.
