HILLSTOMP
Portland Oregon junkbox blues duo HILLSTOMP is infamous for digging through the dumps and forgotten backwoods of American music, recycling traditional elements into a refreshing and distinctive brand of do-it-yourself hill country blues stomp. North Mississippi trance blues, a bit of Appalachia, and a dash of punkabilly come clanging and tumbling from assorted buckets, cans and BBQ lids, all drenched in rambunctious slide guitar. LUKE FRANKS
Luke Franks (The Federalists) blends country, pop, and classic rock styles, drawing from Wilco, Ryan Adams, The Rolling Stones, Steve Miller, and The Band. BLACK CROWN STRINGBAND
Although their name may be dark, Black Crown Stringband is a colorful group of musical compatriots coming from both worlds of Bluegrass as well as Old-Time music and meeting somewhere in the middle. The group, originally named The Pilot Lighters, first appeared at the 2008 Berkeley Old-Time Convention String Band Contest, where they won first place. Their musical menu consists of fiddle driven old-time numbers, twisted up bluegrass standards and plain old straight ahead mountain music.
