“The latest in this series of free parties by the YBCA is curated by Oakland collective thePeople. Tonight their maxim is: "You are the art." Expect a mash up of music, live art, and photography. London DJ Daz-I-Kue of Bugz in the Attic vibrates the dance floor with his broken-beats. Legendary LA street bomber Mear One lives up to his acronym (which stands for "Manifest Energy and Radiate") and creates art in front of your very eyes. And Azul's Peace Photo project reinterprets the petition into a visual stand against conflict around the world: they photograph your face instead of collecting your signature.”
thePeople says:
A YBCA Big Idea Night. Featuring you as the embodiment of the thriving underground arts community. Move yourself to the sounds of Daz-I-Kue. Educate yourself in the Music School with DJs Dedan, Aybee, Wazir, and Rob Rhythm. Add yourself to the Peace Project photo petition. See yourself in the live painting of Mear One. Lose yourself in the live dance videography of Yak Films. Open yourself with the sounds of live drums by Taji Malik.
