“The 200,000 square foot Armory is a reproduction of a Moorish castle, built to house the National Guard after the 1906 earthquake razed their old HQ. Since they moved out in 1976, it's been used by everyone from the SF Opera (for storing costumes and sets) to George Lucas (he shot Star Wars' interior spaceship scenes in the drill court.) But the current inhabitants are the most notorious: BDSM movie makers Kink.com. Today the community-minded Kinksters offer a free guided tour. You'll see Mission creek coursing through the basement, bondage film sets, dungeons, padded cells, giant hamster wheels, and ball-gags galore.”
