“On February 9 1977, Daniel Nicoletta and David Waggoner, two photographers who worked in Harvey Milk's Castro Camera store, organized the first Gay Film Festival of Super 8 Films. They projected their short films onto a bed sheet at the Gay Community Center. Their lo-fi screening has evolved into Frameline — the world's largest and longest-running LGBT film festival. This year's program includes a special focus on Latin and South American LGBT films. Centerpiece feature Undertow (Contracorriente) stands out as an unusual ghost story, with its heart-wrenching tale of love and loss. FYI: Undertow's ghost character is played by Colombian movie star Manolo Cardona. He was also the male lead in Beverly Hills Chihuahua.”
