“It is said that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master a skill — so if you've ever had dreams of rap battle glory, now may be the time to get started. Every month, local MC Vincent K (aka Schematic) hosts a freestyle session where attendees go through rhyming games and alliteration drills to ease them into flowin' like veterans. Bring your mom, your partner, or your next-door neighbor, and start practicing your sh*t-talking tonight — anyone is welcome, so long as they have some interest in freestyle and learning to rhyme. An example of what you might soon be capable of? "Let me remove your prejudices and preconceptions / 'Cause we be making you move like wedding receptions / Throw you out the window if you got verbal constipation / You know what I'm talking about, defenestration."”

We get together to practice rhyming. I'm going to invite a bunch of other MCs, friends, and local artists. We have plenty of space and we hold lots of event here, from yoga classes to 25-person dinners. Bring friends, family, anyone interested in the art of freestyle. Bring beats if you have 'em. We'll have plenty here to choose from. Bring an open mind and the willingness to laugh at yourself. See you soon!
