Robert Pattinson, who plays the vampire Edward Cullen in that Twilight movie you're pretending you didn't see, is related in real life to Vlad III Dracula. According to Ancestory.com genealogist Anastasia Tyler, the series' author, Stephenie Meyer, is also a distant blood relative to the Romanian ruler who inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula. Vlad should be pleased with his enduring influence: Twilight's tale of a vampire who won't bite and the introspective girl who loves him has spawned three movies and millions of crushes. Tonight, California Theatre goes for the jugular of Bay Area Twi-hards with back-to-back viewings of Twilight and New Moon before tomorrow's premiere of the third installment, Eclipse. OMG.

California Theatres says:

Catch up on Stephenie Meyer's phenomenal Twilight series with this double feature of the first two films! In Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen), high school-age Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is sent to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, and meets Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Edward is a vampire, but his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella's soul. They are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent.
