San Francisco space rockers Seventeen Evergreen took their name from the Giles, Giles, and Fripp song "Thursday Morning." Back in 2006 while they were writing their first album, Life Embarrasses Me on Planet Earth, they were inspired by an alien-obsessed schizophrenic neighbor and a peg-legged drummer who claimed to be Jimi Hendrix. Sev Ev has evolved from indie garage beginnings into dancey space rock with a rich tapestry of cosmic noise, utilizing everything from guitars to guzhengs. Tonight, they play songs from their soon-to-be-released sophomore album, Steady On, Psyentust. Trip out to up-tempo tales of alien visitors, dome houses, and fungal mycelia. Also, don't miss a solo set by the Fresh and Onlys' frontman, Tim Cohen. Far out!

Rickshaw Stop says…

Seventeen Evergreen says:

Seventeen Evergreen is an organic electronic/rock hybrid, sonically kite-flying amongst Boards of Canada, My Bloody Valentine, Pink Floyd, and Pavement, a rich and considered tapestry that weaves a kaleidoscope of possibilities into a psychedelic, breathy, almost mystical soup.
