This might just be every nerd's dream: learning the science behind brewcraft while DJs spin live music and beer flows like honey. Oh, and did we mention that this is a summer night at the Cal Academy of Sciences? As part of their NightLife event series, tonight the museum brings together some of the best local beer experts to teach us about hops and barley. The microbreweries on hand will include MateVeza, which brews caffeinated yerba mate beer (mate + cerveza = MateVeza); and 21st Amendment, the local brewpub that offers its watermelon wheat craft beer in cans. Let's drink to science!

California Academy of Sciences says:

There's nothing better on a summer night than a tall, cold glass of beer. Have you ever wondered how beer is brewed? What hops are? What the difference between a lager and a pilsner is? Join some of the San Francisco Bay Area's best microbreweries and beer experts, San Francisco Brewcraft, MateVeza, Bison Brewing, Magnolia Pub, 21st Amendment, Social Kitchen and Brewery, Elizabeth Street Brewery, and others, to learn all about the art of brewing beer. All of these great beers will be available for sale tonight at NightLife.
