Roxie Theater says…

"I remember when I was a child there was a small group of elderly people who would hang out in the back alleys and under bridges by my house. They always seemed to be getting drunk and dancing. One night I looked outside by bedroom window and saw a group of them humping trash cans and laughing." - Harmony Korine

The latest in the infamous line of divisive provocations perpetuated by Mr. Korine (Gummo, julien donkey-boy, Mr. Lonely), Trash Humpers certainly lives up to its title and promise - a nihilist VCR punk assault on sensibility, good taste, aesthetic judgement and all those other institutions your mother and your minister begged you to keep in mind.

Trash Humpers follows a pack of (possibly deformed) senior citizens as they violently carouse and careen around the blighted outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee. Trash is humped.

"However crassly delivered, Mr. Korine's warning against over-consumption is unambiguous: these savages are our future...The only surprise is that he didn't include a shot of one of them violating this film." -Jeannette Catsoulis, The New York Times
