“Anthony Bedard's day job is booking live shows for Hemlock Tavern, but he's also got his own band résumé that includes playing drums in the Icky Boyfriends and fronting Hank IV. He also once collaborated with academic activist Howard Zinn to sue his undergrad institution in a First Amendment case, handled the death masks of executed anarchists Sacco and Vanzetti while working in a Rare Books department, and toiled at a marketing agency alongside the man who invented the super-size fast food concept. You can bet that Bedard's got some stories to tell. Come listen to him at Porchlight, the monthly storytelling series founded by local literary heroines Beth Lisick and Arline Klatte. Bedard and five other handpicked storytellers regale the audience with ten-minute true stories, no notes allowed. This month's theme is Magic 8-Ball in honor of Porchlight's eighth birthday. Shake it up and expect some magic tonight.”
Porchlight SF says:
It's our birthday! Join Beth, Arline, and Marc as we celebrate eight years of monthly storytelling joy. Our theme: "Magic Eight Ball." Featuring stories from: mythbuster Adam Savage with Reply Hazy, Try Again Late; Hemlock Tavern booker Anthony Bedard with Don't Count On It; poet Arisa White with Better Not Tell You Now; humor writer Kari Kiernan with Outlook Not So Good; animator Scott Kravitz with Concentrate and Ask Again; tech genius Jawad Ali with Yes, Definitely; and writer/performer Ben McCoy.
