David Choe is a petty thief, sex addict, and a born-again Christian. He also likes traveling to the Congo to hunt for dinosaurs. But above all else, he is an artist, albeit one who creates his work using aerosols, soy sauce, urine, and blood. He was recently the star of Harry Kim's documentary Dirty Hands which charted Choe's meteoric rise from a law-skirting graffiti writer to a street art superstar who sells his pieces for $100,000 a pop. Today, meet the art provocateur at SFMOMA as he signs copies of his new book. Also in attendance are Choe's buddies, porno starlets Asa Akira and Sasha Grey, who are on hand to help promote the monograph.

SFMOMA says:

Join us and meet David Choe as he signs copies of his new book! This dynamic monograph captures the frenetic raw energy and gorgeous, intense work of gallery and street artist David Choe. From dropping out of art school to a stint in Japanese prison to representation by the Lazarides Gallery alongside Banksy, Choe's wild ride through the art world is represented by a major selection of images, and narrated throughout by Choe himself. Graffiti, murals, paintings, sketchbook pages, photographs, toys, t-shirts, collages, artwork created with blood, and more fill the kinetic pages — all annotated by the artist in a voice that matches the funny, frantic, daredevil nature of the work itself.
