The Bicycle Music Festival is a 100 percent pedal-powered music festival that kicks off at Speedway Meadows and then bike-parades through the streets of SF before ending up in Portrero Hill. Among the many things to look forward to at this year's event is a performance by the Bay Area Derailleurs — a troupe who take the growing bikedance movement to the next level. Their fire dance involves four women astride BMX bikes with flaming wheel pegs. At the BMF, expect the grand unveiling of a new routine they've been working on for a full year known as the Moving CrabDragon. Also be prepared for a blowout performance by Fossil Fool the Bike Rapper, a marching band dance party, and tons of two-wheeled love.

Golden Gate Park says…

Bicycle Music Festival says:

The Bicycle Music Festival is the largest 100% bicycle-powered music festival in the world. It features a 2,000 watt pedal-powered PA system, 15 bands, up to seven festival stops, outrageous Critical Mass-style bicycle party caravans between festival stops, and zero use of cars or trucks. With its completely bike-haulable stage, the event is packed up and deployed numerous times: staged sequentially at different public parks and also on a moving "Live On Bike" stage which rolls down city streets.
