The aisles of the Renegade Craft Fair are like the best of Etsy.com coming to life. Chicagoans Sue Daly and Kathleen Habbley started the indie fair seven years ago when they couldn't find a venue to sell their silk-screened wooden jewelry and coin purses. Traditional craft fairs had steep fees and didn't fit their aesthetic, so they started their own. Renegade was such a success that Daly and Habbley quit their jobs as waitress and animal-shelter employee and have spread the biannual fair to Chicago, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Austin, and San Francisco. This weekend, they set up shop in the Fort Mason center. Expect Little Otsu's pretty paper goods, Lisa Congdon's colorful canvases, and Erin Dollar's woolly fake beards.

Renegade Craft Fair says:

Join us for the The 3rd Annual Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco. It's the Bay’s favorite craft, art, design and DIY spectacular and it features over 225 of today’s finest indie-craft talents from all over the nation, along with craft-workshops, entertainment, and other features. We encourage attendees to ride public transportation or bicycle to the Fair! If you are driving, the Fort Mason Center offers low-cost parking on site, or there is street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.
