“Some movies are measured by the quality of the acting — others, by the quantity of blood. You can treat yourself and/or a hot date to a slasher movie marathon every night this month, as the Roxie and Viz Cinema screen film titles ranging from Dr. S Battles the Sex Crazed Reefer Zombies (military marijuana testing gone wrong) to RoboGeisha (geisha armies with retractable katana swords in their bottoms). On July 22, cult-film cabaret Thrillville presents the West Coast premiere of Mil Mascaras vs. the Aztec Mummy. Expect a live soundtrack of surf music played over scenes involving lucha libre wrestling, magic mushrooms, blood sacrifice, giant robots, and identical twins who also happen to be — what else? — vampiric temptresses.”
