In 2000, San Franciscan artist David Best went dumpster diving behind the BC Bones model dinosaur factory in Petaluma. He discovered a mountain of plywood, left over from where the computerized rotor blade had cut out the dinosaur bones. He recycled them into a wooden latticework that formed Burning Man festival's first temple. Best dedicated it to a recently deceased friend, and soon the structure was filled with other DIY shrines to lost loved ones, before being razed on the Sunday. Best has since built and burned five more scrap-wood temples on the Playa. Now he has passed the torch on to a new crew, who are raising money tonight to fund their interpretation of the only temple in the world where the worshipers wear fuzzy fur.

Pantheon says:
Tie on those togas, toss on the leafy crowns, strap on the sandals and let's show the Romans how it's really done! We're gonna get down to a Clash of the Titans, raising funds to help build Temple of Flux at Burning Man 2010.
