In 1997, SF art enthusiast John Trippe created a zine to house his skate photography, his interviews with corner store guys, and his friends' artwork. He chose the tongue-in-cheek name Fecal Face because he "thought it sounded funny." Three years later, while working on the website of Thrasher skate magazine, Trippe took his publication online and started plastering Fecalface.com stickers on the bathroom walls of local skater hang-outs. His lowbrow art empire now encompasses a print magazine, a website which gets 15,000 hits per day, and a 220 square-foot gallery on Gough. Tonight, in the larger space at the Luggage Store, join him in celebration of the Fecalface.com's tenth birthday. Expect a visual history of the last decade with pieces by 25 artists including locals Silvia Ji, Jeremy Fish, and Ferris Plock.
