“The 34th Mill Valley Film Festival kicks off with co-openers Albert Nobbs, starring Glenn Close as a woman who lives as a man to avoid poverty in 19th century Ireland, and the Duplass brothers' comedy Jeff Who Lives at Home, starring Jason Segel and Ed Helms as brothers who embark on a misadventure that's less Hangover and more mumblecore charmer. The diverse selection of world cinema, documentaries, and shorts includes a spotlight on Michelle Yeoh and her role as Burmese activist Aung San Suu Kyi in Luc Besson's The Lady.”
Welcome to our 34th edition! A celebration of the best in independent and world cinema, MVFF brings together a community of filmmakers and film lovers in Mill Valley, San Rafael and beyond to experience amazing new films in the beautiful environment of San Francisco's Bay Area. With its reputation as a filmmakers' festival, this prestigious noncompetitive event showcases international features, documentaries, shorts and children's films — something for every film-goer.
