Ah, the many faces of Amy Sedaris — she's found her way to our hearts with characters as diverse as 46-year-old freshman Jerri Blank and the irresistible Suzie Homemaker of Hospitality Under the Influence. She's also got far too many stories to fit into a short blurb, but here's one tidbit: Amy taught Martha Stewart how to make grilled-cheese sandwiches with an iron in prison, way before Martha was actually headed there. For more stories like these and a whole lot of naughty laughs, see Sedaris up close and in person. She's at the Roxie tonight to talk about her latest book on gentility, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. Total sales from tonight's event go towards keeping the Roxie up and running for the next 100 years.

Roxie Theater says…

Miss Sedaris will be on hand to discuss her 2010 book, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. She'll participate in a question-and-answer session with the audience, sign books & posters, make some crafts, and generally conduct herself in as charming and effervescent a manner as you might expect.
