"Dazzling, passionate, and courageous," raves The Chicago Tribune. Berkeley Rep proudly presents the winner of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for drama: Ruined. Written by Lynn Nottage and directed by Liesl Tommy, Ruined is a brutal but beautiful look at the lives of women surviving in the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo. In this land, ruled by weapons and whiskey, men may be enemies by day, but by night they all seek the comforts of Mama Nadi and the women she protects. Ruined is "a clear-eyed celebration of endurance," says the New York Times.
