“If your New Year's resolutions haven't gotten off to an auspicious start or if 2012 is already kicking your ass, lift your spirits at the Chinese Lunar New Year Parade. The annual Chinatown spectacle celebrates the newly-minted Year of the Dragon with a dazzling melange of traditional Chinese lion dancers, Miss Chinatown USA and her royal retinue, decked-out floats, the 250-foot-long Golden Dragon — and thousands of SF revelers mangling "gung hay fat choi." The jam-packed festivities aren't for the claustrophobic, but it's a great way to usher in another new beginning.”
A San Francisco tradition since just after the Gold Rush, the parade continues to delight and entertain the many hundreds of thousands of people that come to watch it on the street or tune in to watch it on television on KTVU Fox 2 or KTSF Channel 26, 6—8pm, on Saturday, Feb 11, 2012.
