More than 6000 years of artistic and cultural tradition are reflected in the Asian Art Museum's collection, which includes an impressive array of sculpture, painting, ceramics, furniture, basket arts, and textiles. The museum's regional breadth is just as impressive, representing more than 15,000 objects from India, Southeast Asia, the Persian world, China, Japan, Korea, and the Himalayas. Since moving to its current digs in the old SF Public Library in 2003 special exhibits have covered everything from Afghan jewelry to manga artist Osamu Tezuka.
