Flavorpill says
One of the Mission's classiest and longest running bars (it opened in 1935), the Elbo Room is often many folk's first stop on a night out, not the least because it has the "longest happy hour" in town. If dancing is on your mind, head upstairs where on any given night, live bands and a rotating cast of regular DJs play jazz, funk, soul, Afro-Cuban, hip-hop, rock, indie rock, or alternative music.
