“Are you sitting down? Stations, a solo show by Mark Tracy, features drawings and paintings of chairs. By concentrating on commonplace furnishing, Tracy injects subtle emotion into inanimate objects, coloring his chairs with a sense of wonder, dread, even violence. Mark Tracy is a Washington-based painter and founder of The Seattle Group, a collective of visual artists from the PNW. Rare Medium, a new gallery on Capitol Hill, shows art and sells Polaroid cameras. Long live analog!”
